“Donuts” was an early informal term used by Mateo Taylor and myself during the initial Pfizer microscopy observations to describe recurring circular or toroidal structures that frequently appeared in association with rectangular crystalline compartments. As the work developed, these recurring spatial relationships became incorporated into the broader Circle–Rectangle Motif (CRM) framework described in Atlas 1. The original term is retained here for historical continuity because many of the early videos, discussions, and observations still reference “donuts” directly. Readers interested in the later observational and soft matter framing should refer to Atlas 1 and the associated CRM sequences.
